Question by Desi Boilermaker/Triple Integral: A good place to visit in the month of November.?
I am looking for a good place to visit during winter break (approximately from December 20 to Jan 15). I want to visit a place that is unique and interesting. I have no reservations whatsoever. The only consideration is that a return ticket from Chicago to the place must not be more than about 1500 $ .

When I was a young teen, I went on a class trip to Chicago and we ate at this pizza place that was unique. I can’t remember the name of it, but I guess it’s some sort of Chicago icon. All I remember about it was the entire restaurant was loaded ceiling to floor with handwritten signatures of everyone who has dined there. It was really interesting to see. Hey folks.
Summer is drawing to a close, and before I’m locked into college I’d like to go on a road trip with some friends of mine.

Here’s the ‘no thanks’ list, mainly because I’ve been there too often:
NYC
Chicago
Florida
Vegas (not 21)

I’m interested in knowing if there is a place in chicago where one can live in a reasonable apartment which is close to a primary/ secondary school, catholic church, gorcery, and a hospital/ clinic? My husband and I will be moving in the place with a 1 year old baby. My concern is safety and immediate convenience of the family while adjusting to the place. Any suggestion is very much appreciated. Thanks!

I am interested in selling my old stuff like some pairs of shoes & some clothes. Now most of them are in mint condition as I have worn them just once or twice. Some are brand new also. So apart from selling it online is there any place where I can physically take the stuff & sell it in Chicago.
Also suggestions about online sites apart from craigslist & ebay are welcome.

I think a great place to travel for a week would probably be New Orleans, Louisiana. You said you’re looking for fun right? Well go on down to New Orleans where you can enjoy music,food,and fun.

There are a ton of places, depending on your interests. I love Chicago.

navy Pier has a childrens museum and an imax theater.

Shedd Aquarium, Science & Industry Museum, Natural History Museum, the Planetarium are all right by each other.

Definitely need to eat at Ed DeBevicks. go downtown to the watertower, Hard Rock Cafe, 50′s Mcdonalds, ESPN Zone,

Eat at Magionos for Uno’s for Pizza.

What is a good place to go in/near Illinois? (besides Chicago)?

I live right by Chicago, and I’ve been there countless times, so I was wondering what a good place to visit within a 3-4 hour drive of Chicago is (we might consider an overnight stay), might it be in Illinois or neighboring states.

The only things I can come up with are Springfield and Starved Rock, but I’ve been there. I was also thinking of St. Louis, but I’ve heard from many people that there isn’t much to do there.
