So my hubby has an entire month off every year and we take a trip as a family to some place that interests us, with help from our tax refund. This year we are headed to Chicago for the following:

Shedd Aquarium

Observatory and Planetarium

Lincoln park zoo

Chicago Children’s museum

Field Museum

Mueseum of Science and Industry

Thats all we are aware of so far but we are keeping an eye out for anything else … More Here

My husband and I will be taking the train to Chicago in May for a long weekend. We plan to stay downtown and walk around for food and sightseeing. We’ve been there in the past and love the shopping, John Hancock building, etc. Would love some suggestions for yummy (but budget-friendly) places to eat and fun things to do within reasonable walking distance. Hi, you should definitely try southwest if you don’t mind flying out of midway. If you want to fly out of O’Hare, I recommend United or American. Try their website or Expedia. I’ve found many low fares on Expedia (even cheaper than southwest). Good Luck.
